Restauration of a Medieval Sun Dial Discovered at Iaşi-Trade Center

On the occasion of a rescue archaeological digging, a foreign jeweller workshop from the I7th century was discovered. The most precious piece is an ivory egg-shaped solar watch, bearing an incised inscription with the artisan’s name (Hans Tröschel) and the year of manufacture (1591). Finally, some information is presented concerning the state of conservation and the strategy of restoration.
