Résumé

The ceramic of Miletus type discovered at Brăila

Ceramic of Miletus type (the name received from place where discovered first time) was represented the transition period of Ottoman ceramic in fourteenth-fifteenth centuries. It is defined by the applied design (various vegetable, geometrical motives, less those zoomorphic) white engobe over red clay. The colours utilised are cobalt-blue with different shades, turquoise, manganese, olive-green and black. Pottery wares are bowls with different size and plates with relief border. Presence of this ceramic type in Romanian territories shows the attraction for oriental goods.
