    Hanspeter Schaudig studierte Assyriologie in Freiburg und Münster (Westfalen), mit besonderem Interesse and Sprache und Geschichte des alten Orients. Seine Dissertation (Münster 1997) beschäftigte sich mit den Inschriften der spätbabylonischen Könige Nabonid und Kyros. Seine Habilitation (Explaining Disaster, Heidelberg 2012) untersucht die Erklärungsmuster historischer Omen und Legenden, mit denen die Babylonier verschiedene Katastrophen ihrer Geschichte verarbeitet und als sinnstiftende Erzählungen von Schuld und göttlicher Strafe geformt haben. Hanspeter Schaudig arbeitet als Assyriologe and der Akademie der Wissenschaften Heidelberg.

Abstract

Der Artikel beschäftigt sich mit ursprünglich babylonischen Typifizierungen „verderbter“ Könige, die sich gegen den Gott Marduk und seine heilige Stadt Babylon stellen. Dieser Typus wandert später in die biblische und frühislamische Literatur. Die Überlegungen schlagen einen Bogen von der Ermordung des assyrischen Königs Sanherib, hinweg über die berühmte Sentenz al-Bīrūnīs, daß „die Einwohner Jerusalems anscheinend jeden, der ihre Stadt zerstört, einen Nebukadnezar heißen“, bis hin zur Ermordung des letzten Sassanidenherrschers Khosrau II., welcher als bisher letzter Wiedergänger Sanheribs auf der Bühne der Weltgeschichte auf- und von ihr abgetreten ist.

این مقاله به بررسی سنخ شناسی شاه "فاسد" در متون بابلی می پردازد. متونی که علیه مردوک و شهر مقدس بابل موضع گرفتند. این تصویر سنخی سپس به عهد عتیق و سپس‌تر به متون آغازین اسلامی منتقل می‌شود. غور در این باب اندیشه‌ی وجود یک خط ممتد را پیش می‌نهد. کمانی که از قتل سنخریب شاه آشوری، تا جمله‌ی معروف ابوریحان بیرونی که گفت "ساکنان اورشلیم، هر کس شهرشان را ویران کند نبوکدنصر می‌نامند"، تا قتل خسرو دوم آخرین پادشاه ساسانی - آخرین سنخریب تاریخ – کشیده می‌شود.
