Double Dipping beim Hybrid Open Access – Chimäre oder Realität?

Abstract
Hybrid Open Access steht in einer heftigen Diskussion. Ein Knackpunkt ist dabei die Frage, ob 'Double Dipping' stattfindet, ob also für den gleichen Artikel sowohl Subskriptionsgebühren als auch Publikationsgebühren gezahlt werden. Um die Zusicherung von Verlagen, kein Double Dipping zu betreiben, zu überprüfen wurden 30 nationale und internationale Verlage anhand konstruierter Beispiele um Auskünfte zu ihrer Preispolitik gebeten. Das Resultat ist ernüchternd: Die Spannbreite der Rückmeldungen reicht von sehr allgemeinen, unüberprüfbaren Aussagen über teilweises Double Dipping bis zu völligem Double Dipping. Nur sehr wenige Verlage scheinen ihre Einnahmen annähernd vollständig zu erstatten.
