Abstract

In his article Reinhard Lamp describes the grave slab of Thomas Frowyk, a prominent country squire and magistrate in Middlesex in the 15th century. After describing Frowyk’s grave slab, which also refers to his wife Elizabeth, Lamp analyses the Latin epitaph, written in six double-lines. In his study and interpretation Lamp accomplishes a correction of the previous translation and gives an interesting insight into the English hunting and the squire’s life.
