Abstract
Reports from the regional and specialised areas of the Ethnologisches Museum. The basic structure of the Ethnologisches Museum consists of the historically developed regional and specialised areas. These are subdivided into the collections Africa, American Archaeology, American Ethnology, Asia, Oceania and Australia, and the Media Department including the ethnomusicology collection, the phonogram archive and visual anthropology. These areas are managed by curators. The collections in the museum serve as the source of all projects, research and exhibitions and are
also the starting point for the museum’s cross-regional areas of work, such as digitisation, loans and outreach work. In addition, they form the basis for current major projects such as the development of the »Dahlem Research Campus« and the »Collaborative Museum«. Without claiming to give a comprehensive overview, the following tables show the developments in the respective areas and collections since 1973, listing important exhibitions, publications and key additions to the collection, as well as the people who have played a mayor role in shaping these developments.
