Mitteilungen des Kunsthistorischen Institutes in Florenz
About the Journal
The Mitteilungen des Kunsthistorischen Institutes in Florenz, founded in 1908 as a publication forum of what was still at the time a fledgling institute, is now one of the oldest and most prestigious art-historical journals worldwide. Since 2013 the Mitteilungen is issued again three times each year in a new graphic design. The journal publishes original research dedicated to Italian art from Late Antiquity to the 20th century, including its global outreach. Preference is given to articles that have a wide focus and open new perspectives to the field. Thematic issues, which can also transcend the limits of Italian art history and address general aspects of art historical discourse, are published from time to time.
All contributions will be accessible online one year after publication of the print version. The current issues of the Mitteilungen can be ordered from Centro Di, Florence (Silvia Cangioli, Email: silvia@centrodi.it). Members of the Verein zur Förderung des Kunsthistorischen Instituts in Florenz (Max-Planck-Institut) e. V. receive the journal free of charge.
