About the Journal
On an international scale, the Römisches Jahrbuch der Bibliotheca Hertziana is one of the leading scientific journals in the field of Italian art and architectural history from late antiquity to the present day. The Römisches Jahrbuch provides a forum for the latest methodological and content-related debates in art history, thus contributing to the further development of the academic discipline. Essays may be submitted in German, English, Italian or French. The average article length is 80.000–120.000 including footnotes, in exceptional cases up to 250.000 characters. All articles approved by the Editorial Committee are subject to double-blind review by international experts and receive professional editing and comprehensive proofreading. Founded in 1937, the journal is published annually by Hirmer Verlag in Munich and is available as a hardcover edition directly from the publishing house or through booksellers.
