Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text could be double-spaced or 1,5 line spacing; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed at the end. Please, don't use footnotes.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the APA guidelines (Version 7).
  • The reviewers are typically not blind regarding the authorship of the manuscript. On special request, blind review of the submitted manuscript can be offered. Please contact one of the editors.
  • AI statement: We follow the APA policy on the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in scholarly materials (https://www.apa.org/pubs/journals/resources/publishing-policies). For example, when a generative artificial intelligence (AI) model is used in the drafting of a manuscript for an APA publication, the use of AI must be disclosed in the methods section and cited.

Author Guidelines

Please note that authors cannot create an account on their own.

Please contact one of the editors and we will create an account for you as soon as possible.

Regular Articles

The length of regular articles should be around 5000 words. Even though longer articles will be reviewed and possibly accepted, the authors should keep in mind that concise and clear-written articles have a higher chance to be read.

Brief Reports

Brief reports should be less than 2000 words in length with a maximum of four figures or tables and 15 references. Single-case studies and case reports will also subsumed in this category - even if the length exceeds slightly the word limit.

Commentaries

A scientific paper includes a review of the current state-of-the-art in the field the article addresses. This would be necessary to be consideres as a regular article or brief report. If the authors express interesting ideas - without fully reviewing the field - that might stimulate further dream research, the submission might be considered as Commentary. These are not peer-reviewed but suggestions will be made to optimize readability.
