Chromolithographic Animation Film – Films
Results of the technical and scientific investigation of six animated film loops from the collection of the Deutsches Filminstitut Frankfurt am Main
and five fragmentary animated film loops from the collection of the Berlin video- and installation artist Betina Kuntzsch
In order to be able to make general statements about the medium of chromolithographic animation film loops -Films, technical and scientific data regarding the image carriers and the colorants used in six animated film loops and five fragmentary animated film loops were summarized. On the basis of these results comparative evaluations were carried out in an attempt to discover some uniformity in the use of image carriers and colorants that could prove relevant for identifying the date of publication and the manufacturer.
