About the Journal

Conserva - Beiträge zur Erhaltung von Kunst- und Kulturgut has been published twice a year in open access since autumn 2022 and offers specialist articles, conference reports and reviews on all areas of conservation, restoration and research into historical artefacts and techniques. The journal is published by the German Association of Conservators (Verband der Restauratoren).

The ‘Beiträge zur Erhaltung von Kunst und Kulturgut’ were published in printed form from issue 1/2003 to issue 1/2022, and from 2/2013 also as a hybrid edition in printed and digital format. From then on, only VDR members received the magazine free of charge in digital form as part of their association membership; print editions were available for a fee.

With issue 2/2022, the journal Conserva - Beiträge zur Erhaltung von Kunst- und Kulturgut is published here as an online edition in open access. Older issues are continuously added and made available online (see archive).
