Resumen
The aim of this paper is to question the bond between desire and different forms of knowledge in the work of the Argentinian writer Juan José Saer. We will analyse the representation of different epistemological paradigms related to the Modern Age and quantum physics to verify the recurring presence of different forms of desire that also involve the relation between masculine and feminine. This analysis will show that both desire and gender are key elements in the representation of knowledge in Saer’s work. Their presence will propose alternative forms of thinking the relationship that man has with the world. At first we will be aware of an agressive reaction regarding the impossibility to acquire a complete knowledge of the world and his experience in it, represented by women characters; on a second moment, with the presence of new paradigms, we will see a new relationship between man and world, founded on complementarity and not in the will to obtain a total and definite knowledge.
