Abstract

Abraham, a central figure in Judaism, Christianity and Islam, is the archetype of faith. Alas, in this troubled world, the will to power and domination seem to carry the day. And yet, there is more to unite the human community than to divide it. The paper draws a portrait of Abraham, expounds the lofty values he taught, and shows the ways in which such values could be used as a basis to foster interfaith dialogue and promote diversity, peaceful co-existence, and justice notwithstanding the many cultural differences that may be perceived as setting the followers of the three faiths apart.
