Abstract

Reinhard Lamp continues his series about medieval Latin tomb slabs and effigies in England. In this article he focuses on the description and interpretaion of the effigies of John Asger, Richard Byll, Richard Bartlot and Hugh Bostok. Beside biographical data, the author gives commentaries as well as prosodic and linguistic analyses of the inscriptions. Reinhard Lamp presents a little-known topic with outstanding knowledge of details.
