Henryk Stażewski and his earliest works. Analysis of his style in relation to unknown composition dated ca.1920

The article presents a detailed characteristics of Henryk Stażewski's earliest works, until the avant-garde "Blok" group was founded. Transformation of his painting style took place during World War I, as he started attending Warsaw School of Fine Arts. A relation between the artist and his works refers to the times of subsequent art movements. The composition discovered and dated ca. 1920 is thought to be an unknown part of his workshop.
