Abstract

Around the "Wedding of the Count of Orgaz"- Roman Jaworski's Relationship with the Avant-Garde

The aim of this article is to go beyond current tendency to place The Wedding of the Count of Orgaz (Wesele hrabiego Orgaza, 1925) - the only finished novel by Roman Jaworski - in context of the expressionism and catastrophism. I describe the origins of these interpretation and recall writer's relationships with centers and avant-garde groups to show ambiguity of Jaworski's artistic program.
