Abstract

Educating and forming. University as a city-forming element on the example of the development of higher education institutions in Poznań.

The article deals with the importance of university infrastructure in terms of the development of the city, defining the social, economic and national identification of the region. It refers to the hundred years of the history of evolution of the city of Poznan, starting in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, the time when the region experienced intense and developmentally change of power. The author discusses the examples of the most important facilities that have been designed or transformed into university infrastructure facilities.
