Abstract

In this paper, I will explore the Tibetan Buddhist practice of dream yoga as a means of improving mental well-being through lucid dreaming. It discusses the psychological and spiritual benefits, including emotional regulation, reduced nightmares, enhanced creativity, and some difficulties with maintaining lucidity and cultural considerations involved. Key questions addressed include- ‘In what ways do lucid dreaming and dream yoga share a fascinating connection?’ ‘How does dream yoga compare with modern mindfulness-based therapies in improving mental health?’ ‘Can integrating dream yoga into existing therapeutic frameworks offer a more holistic approach to mental wellness?’ These questions will guide the discussion on the potential of dream yoga in contemporary mental health practices.
