Abstract

Restoration of the Largely Damaged Triple Harp of Giovanni Vettorazzo, Vicenza 1793
The Museum of Musical Instruments of Leipzig University decided to have the large chromatic harp by Giovanni Vettorazzo restored which had been badly damaged in World War II. The instrument was going to be exhibited in the newly installed showrooms. All missing components and its exterior were reconstructed on the basis of the remainders, the traces from the manufacturing process, a photo taken prior to the damage and by comparison to similar instruments.
