Abstract

Parchment glue – Observations on the gluing of gold leather wallpapers
The conservation and restoration of the extensive gold leather collection of Schloss Moritzburg near Dresden began in 2002. Over the years, experience has been gained, technologies adapted and changed. Gluing of historical leathers to each other and to reproduction leathers, is carried out using parchment glue. During test gluing, it was found that when using parchment glue, the animal type and the preparation of the glue should be taken into account.
