On the Restoration of the Figure of a Chinese Woman from the Collection of GRASSI Museum Leipzig
Since the mid of the past year GRASSI Museum of Applied Art Leipzig is displaying the statuette of a Chinese woman with a surface in the manner of grotto work. The previous restoration comprised the consolidation of lose particles and the removal of the darkened protective coating covering nearly the complete surface. In addition, voids were filled in with matching shells and other materials.
