core tasks in 500 years of restoration of ancient bronze statues
After the rediscovery of classical antiquity, especially the rare bronze statues were among the treasures, first in private collections and later in public collections. Their presentation was preceded by their preparation, which from the Renaissance to the early 20th century, as the 'supreme discipline' in the history of restoration of ancient bronzes, encompasses important facets of the multifaceted ethical considerations as well as the complexity of the technical solutions.
