Abstract

During the last military dictatorship in Argentina, a neoliberal narrative emerged that resulted in the electoral triumph Carlos Menem in 1989. This narrative prevailed in the country until the mass protest against the government in 2001. In this article, I analyse the neoliberal narrative in Argentina that governed the general opinion until many of the protests against the economic and social consequences of neoliberal policies adopted the narrative itself.
