Abstract

This article discusses a number of aesthetic productions by Uruguayan artists and writers who suffered political imprisonment for over a decade during the dictatorial period. The study examines the relationship between subjectivity, limit-experience and artistic creation in Carlos Liscano's novel La mansión del tirano, Nuño Pucurull's engravings Ómnibus and El Boliche and Jorge Tiscornia and José Pedro Charlo's El almanaque. The aim is to interpret these works taking into account the context of production while in prison and thus to propose an interpretation of psychological resistance processes associated with language, memory and abstract operations on temporality.
