Abstract
In “Archeologia dell’opera d’arte” Giorgio Agamben proposes that during Modernity “the artist’s action emancipated itself from its traditional productive or reproductive ends to become pure performance”. It is this frame, that allows and action to enter the art world as a work. A work that calls attention to the intertwining of artist, work and operation, which in turn abolishes all distinction between subjects by virtue of their creative faculties.
This paper analyzes two creative processes realized by the Efimerodramas group: Relación I. En Negro. Trayecto Finlandia (2017) and Relación VIII, soportes sustitutos (2018). The paper’s main tenet is that a transformation in the link between objectuality and presence can be observed in the temporal arc between the two relaciones, and this transformation can be studied through the examination of the forms of convergence and divergence that the practices set in motion.
