Abstract

Who determines the designation of sites and objects as heritage? How are children represented in heritage processes? This interview with Kostas Tsiambaos discusses the representation or respectively underrepresentation of children in heritage identification and evaluation within the Greek national context. Focusing on postwar children’s institutions, the built environments for children are understood not only as architectures designed for children but also as children’s spaces in relation to social history and memory.
