Abstract

This article introduces the life and work of Friedrich Weinwurm (1895–1942?), an architect who played a pivotal role in shaping interwar architecture in Slovakia but has remained largely absent from scholarly discourse. It outlines the methods employed in investigating his biography and oeuvre, and provides a critical overview of both key and peripheral sources, highlighting their interconnections. The findings are situated within both the broader historical context and the current state of knowledge.
