Vorträge und Forschungen
About the Journal
The Konstanzer Arbeitskreis für mittelalterliche Geschichte e.V. was founded in 1951 and is comprised by a group of co-opted members whose aim it is to develop important questions and approaches within the field of mediaeval studies. Twice a year the Arbeitskreis organises a conference on the island of Reichenau at Lake Constance.
The seat of the Arbeitskreis is in Constance. The minutes of every conference (including all questions and answers) can be acquired at this office. The proceedings are published in the series “Vorträge und Forschungen”, whilst select monographic studies are published in the series "Sonderbände". All of the latter are accessible online two years after their publication.
The Konstanzer Arbeitskreis is financed by the Bundesland of Baden-Württemberg. The town of Constance also contributes financially.
The collected essays and monographs of the series “Vorträge und Forschungen” have now been digitised and are offered via Internet thanks to a cooperation between the Arbeitskreis, the University Library Heidelberg and the publishers of the Thorbecke Verlag. This initiative has been financed by the Ministry of Science, Research and Art of Baden-Württemberg. Its aim is to foster the national and international visibility and reception of the series „Vorträge und Forschungen“, to position the volumes adequately in the digitised age and to offer older, less easily accessible volumes to the public.
