Abstract

In 2007, a site of the Linear Pottery culture was excavated in Friedberg B3a km 19 and the associated pottery allowed detailed interpretations. The settlement processes began with the early middle Linear Pottery culture and ended with its very final stage. Among the finds was a bone comb which can be dated to the late Linear Pottery culture – a very rare object in the early Neolithic. Concerning the morphology of the comb its utilisation for pinning up hair is highly probable.
