Die nördlichste Kreisgrabenanlage der Stichbandkeramik

Vorbericht zu den Ausgrabungen bei Watenstedt (Lkr. Helmstedt) in den Jahren 2015-2016

Abstract

By extending the geomagnetic prospections around the late Bronze Age and early Iron Age fortification of the Hünenburg at Watenstedt the adjacent area was tested on archaeological features. A ring ditch was discovered which seems to be spacially separated from features presumably dating back to the turn of the 2^nd to the 1^st millennium BC. It was investigated in two campaigns and found to be the northernmost circular enclosure of the Stichbandkeramik culture.
