Abstract

Fragments of an elaborately metal inlay military belt from phase SD 3 were found in the man’s grave 513 of the cemetery at Bockenheim (Lkr. Bad Dürkheim). This does not only add to the number of hitherto rare early incrusted pieces of the middle/second half of the 5th century which show an individual decoration, but also testifies to the early beginning of row graves in the Palatinate as early as the last third of the 5th century.
