Abstract
This paper presents two very long Beaker culture daggers of more than 30 cm displaying a tang with small flanges. They belong to the Trizay type as defined by G. Gallay and are very similar to the Spanish type Ciempozuelos. These two daggers bring to five the number of such very long Beaker period blades known in France. Considering their find circumstances (four deposited in rivers and one in a very likely non-funerary hoard), the question arises of whether these weapons bear a particular meaning, possibly markers of social prestige for ceremonial use.
