Abstract

Around 150-85 BC a wealthy woman was buried in the Central Rhineland in a cremation grave which contained several unusual and even rare objects. An iron box / pyxis, an amulet capsule as well as a bracelet with up to three amulet pendants throw up questions about their owner’s social standing and role. Was she an important person in the religious sense for the community or was she »only« a woman who lived very piously? Furthermore, these grave goods can be connected with religious content and even the performing of cultic rituals and, at the least, offer an, if somewhat diffused, insight into the Celtic intellectual world.
