Abstract

A recently discovered golden disc of type Weiskirchen from the cemetery Worms-Herrnsheim

In 2012, a rich, unplundered Lt-A grave was excavated in the Bronze and Iron Age cemetery of Worms-Herrnsheim. Along with gold jewellery, an Etruscan Schnabelkanne, a sword and a shield, it also contained an elaborate golden disc »type Weiskirchen«, which is presented in this article. Obvious parallels to the famous golden disc from the Kleinaspergle date the grave in the last quarter of the 5th century BC.
