Abstract

In 2014 survey work near the »Hauptwall« on the Üetliberg led to the discovery of a Hallstatt period finds assemblage consisting of two beaded rim dishes and a bronze chain divider. In 2017 the find was raised en bloc and uncovered in the laboratory of the cantonal archaeology in Zurich. The two beaded rim dishes are of the Hohmichele type, between which a completely preserved chain distributor was embedded. Further finds are not present and the assemblage seems to have been relocated later. Based on comparative finds with wagon burials of the Ha D1/ D2 period in southern Germany, one can deduce that the finds assemblage originally formed part of a Hallstatt period grave inventory. The assemblage underpins the importance of the Üetliberg as a seat of lordship during the Hallstatt period.
