Über den Rubikon – Wie Daten über Grenzen hinweg vergleichbar werden

Abstract
Depending on the region, archaeological institutions have very different requirements for archaeological documentation data. The specifications regarding the content of the documentation, the expected workflows, the interpretation of standards and the data formats are particularly divergent. A comparative overview reveals an extremely fragmented state of archaeological data, which makes further processing difficult. The concept for the „Sapikon“ (Anzenberger, Schmid & Winkler, 2024) software levels out these differences through curated thesauri, a workflow-open design and exports for each institution. One consequence of this, however, is that institutions only receive the parts of the entire documentation that they specify by guideline.
