Das Opfer und das Geopferte. Versuch einer kontextuellen Deutung der reinen Beilhorte und der hölzernen Beilschäftungen in neolithischen Horten der Trichterbecherkultur

Abstract

The article presents two groups of hoards; one consisting only of axeblades and another in which also the haftings are preserved. Analysis of the use of the axeblades and several details in the deposition of the axes allow to conclude that it is not varying conditions of preservation which are responsible for this difference, but that both groups of hoards represent different catagories of religious offerings.
