Abstract
In four Neolithic bog settlements of the northern Federsee region in Upper Swabia, remains of fl y puparia dominated over beetle remains, which in other circumstances are introduced to the settlemet together with fodder and timber. Accordingly to the archaeobotanical fi ndings and the archaeological background in theses settlement as at the selltlements of Thayngen-Weiher and Pestenacker these fly puparia seem to indicate specialisation for keeping cattle. The presence of wooden trackways and wheels support this idea.Statistics
