Abstract
During the excavation of archaeological site Grube-Rosenhof in 2001 and 2002, only one uniform endmesolithic layer could be identifi ed in the periphery of the former settlement. This stratum was accumulated between 4900 and 4400 calBC . To elucidate chronological differences inside the layer, position and distribution of artifacts were analyzed. Flint and ceramics exhibited different patterns in their vertical distribution, however it was not possible to detect a clear chronological order within the deposits or a pre-pottery horizon.Potentially, the distribution patterns are shaped by a landwards shift of the outcast area in the shallow water zone with rising sea level.
