Kalkriese - oder: wie man eine Schlacht ausstellt

Abstract

The battle of Varus exists as a historical event without physical presence. The visitor has to be brought into contact with the emptiness in Kalkriese which is the probable location of the battle. Three moments characterize the exhibition: The park and the tower representing the exterior, and the interior of the Museum.
