Abstract

Cupped pebbles and hour-glass perforated maceheads are often meant to be – even functionally – different groups of artefacts. Some suppose for example a usage of cupped pebbles as hand rests for fire borers. But the comparison of the geographic spread, the selection of the raw material and the preferred shapes show us, that cupped pebbles seem to be very often semimanufactered product of hour-glass perforated maceheads.
