Zur Problematik der Archivierung archäologischer Funde

Abstract

Because of the cultural sovereignty of the federal states, the archiving of archaeological finds in the Federal Republic of Germany is not uniform. The specialized agencies for archaeological heritage management are set up differently from state to state and the handling of cultural property from excavations, surveys and private collections is not directly comparable. The author describes the situation in North Rhine-Westphalia following the changes to the law on the Protection of Monuments since July 27th, 2013.
