Abstract
In modern day German “living history”, sexuality is usually dealt with discreetly, which certainly benefits didactic aims. This is in contrast to the sexually charged living history displays of past centuries. Only on the extreme right does living history still closely link pre-history with sexuality. Rather strikingly, the notions thus conveyed are, in their turn, related to implicit political contents, providing glimpses of the subconscious instinctual appeal of extreme right-wing political messages.
