Archaeological Research Data Management in Practice: The Project FAIR.rdm in the SPP2143 „Entangled Africa“

Identifiers (Article)

Abstract

Within the framework of SPP 2143 “Entangled Africa”, funded by the DFG (German Science Foundation) since 2018, thirteen archaeological projects are currently researching intra-African relations. The FAIR.rdm project started with the independent task of digitally indexing the data of these projects and making them visible online. One explicit goal is to make this data accessible through the systems of iDAI.world (German Archaeological Institute) under the requirements of the FAIR and CARE Initiatives. Our article presents a practical insight into the challenges of our work.
