Der linienbandkeramische Fundplatz Lietzow 10 im Havelland (Brandenburg):
Debatte der kontroversen Vorlagen und Deutungen

Abstract
The Lietzow 10 site in Havelland (Brandenburg), which was investigated in 2012/2013, yielded finds and features that were attributed to the Mesolithic and the Linear Pottery cultures, published in an article in the regional archaeological yearbook (2014). In the years that followed, the site therefore served as important evidence not only for the coexistence of these two different cultures at the same location, but also for long-distance contacts as far afield as the Rhineland and Kuyavia in Poland. This changed in 2024, when finds and findings were presented in more detail by a working group e.g. at Kiel University. Mesolithic cultural elements are no longer mentioned; instead, the publication mentions two farmsteads, a settlement period of only two generations and a dating of 5,100 to 5,000 cal.BC, results that are only reflected with reservations and partly contradictionally in the analyzed chapters of the book “ROOTS-Studies Vol. 5”, but gladly taken up by international research. Finally, a completely different interpretation of the site is proposed: a repeatedly visited watering place for mobile cattle keepers.
