Zur Frage von Stellenbesetzungen an deutschen Universitäten: Einschätzungen und Ergänzungen zu Heinrich Härkes „’The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’?“

Abstract

Referring to Heinrich Härke’s (2006) contribution this article provides additional information on the current system of appointing university professors and junior staff in Germany. In discussing a recent example of an appointment for a professorship at a major German university from an outsider’s perspective certain mechanisms and perils of the system are being addressed. Moreover, some personal experiences serve to illustrate contemporary practices of recruiting junior staff.
