Abstract
To communicate archaeological knowledge is not just a concern of institutions like museums, but also a matter for volunteers. They plan and manage educational events. In doing so, they act in the gaps between the programmes of well established institutions. Is this situation accepted or tolerated because no one has capacities to control it? Should the demand for archaeological communication be guided and organised by institutions? Is a certain level of quality necessary? To establish archaeological education and as there is a need of some kind of organisation, this paper makes some recommendations.
