Abstract
This paper gives an overview of the history of prosopographical projects at KU Leuven,
starting with the Prosopographia Ptolemaica in the interbellum, its successor Trismegistos People, and
Trismegistos’ newest feature, the Names in the Ancient World portal. It presents the evolving database
models that were adapted to accommodate new types of data, touches upon the question of the prosopogaphical
nature of these resources, and explains Trismegistos’ stance on the feasibility of a single
prosopography of the ancient world.
