Abstract

The conference NEUES SEHEN. Aktuelle  Ansätze der Digitalen Archäologie in der Objektund Bildwissenschaft (NEUES SEHEN. Current approaches to object and image studies in digital archaeology), held at the University of Trier, 20.–22.05.2022, explored the potential of digital tools and methods applied to archaeological objects and imagery. This first part deals with the role that digital tools and methods play – and should play – in academic teaching (session 3 of the conference), with the technical and didactic challenges one has to face in the seminar room, and with the question how teaching and research in digital archaeology will shape our discipline in the (very near) future.
