Abstract
The conference NEUES SEHEN. Aktuelle Ansätze der Digitalen Archäologie in der Objekt und Bildwissenschaft (NEUES SEHEN. Current approaches to object and image studies in digital archaeology), held at the University of Trier, 20.–22.05.2022, explored the potential of digital tools and methods applied to archaeological objects and imagery. According to the four sessions of the conference, we will publish a series of four papers in Digital Classics Online (DCO) which include each a short introduction by the organizers, the abstracts of the projects presented during the session, and a transcript of a group discussion among the respective speakers. This third part focusses on the potential of pattern recognition and the application of AI to archaeological research.
